What begins as a quiet question can sometimes change everything. For Dustin Plantholt, that question was simple: What if I could be a filmmaker?
Just one month after the idea took hold, Dustin found himself in Lisbon, Portugal, stepping into an entirely new world. Invited by the President of NYC’s Explorers Club, he set aside his familiar role behind the microphone and stepped behind the camera instead. With no prior filmmaking experience, a small budget, and a tight timeline, he assembled a team and committed fully to the process.
Four intense days later, the result was a completed family film—what began as a DVD would eventually find a global audience on Amazon Prime Video as The League of Explordinaires.
The journey stands as a reminder that progress doesn’t always require credentials or certainty—sometimes it only requires the courage to begin.
